ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK Ltd, based in Winfrith, Dorset is a leading provider of science and technology solutions to the UK Ministry of Defence, the Royal Navy and to other defence departments and corporate customers internationally. We offer complete solutions, from research through to product concept, design and development, manufacture and subsequent support.
The business has been at the forefront of UK naval research and development for over sixty years having its roots in the Admiralty Underwater Weapons Establishment (AUWE) Portland. The company became part of the global ATLAS ELEKTRONIK Group in October 2009 and is the Group’s largest subsidiary.
Within the Dorset area we are one of the largest employers of scientific and technical staff with a workforce of over 450 employees, many of whom have developed through the Graduate or apprenticeship route, hold post degree qualifications and are members of professional institutes.

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK Ltd is committed to the development of all its employees in order to grow in-house expertise to allow our employees to achieve their highest potential so that the best possible solutions are offered to our customers. The introduction of a professional development scheme is important in supporting our newly recruited graduates in quickly becoming valuable professional engineers and achieving incorporated or chartered status.
The scheme aims to support graduates from the time they join the company until they achieve professional accreditation through learning opportunities provided by AEUK. Suitably qualified and experienced mentors are assigned to each of the graduates to further support their professional progress.
The scheme is closely monitored with regular reviews and a graduate training programme including a project set by the Senior Management Team. The graduates will continue to be mentored and get support from the company as well as the committee that oversees the scheme until they achieve their desired incorporated or chartered status.
